Boy Christina does a lovely job.. I am keen to try another one like this, but just need to get home before it gets dark. I don't really have enough good "craft" light at night. Its Daylight Saving now, so I can get home later than normal! Bring on summer!

Here is one I whipped up yesterday! I found this gorgeous paper that has all the colours of the rainbow in it and used a small section. It is a transparent paper so it would be good for other stuff as well.

Nice ribbons that are good to the environment!

I found these little enhancements that you could add to your cards. I really like them. Even more than others as these have been produced with the environment in mind.

Pink And Orange Dragonflies Background Paper

Supplies Needed:

1. Plain paper

2. Dragonfly rubber stamp (Stamp Credit: Magenta Rubber Stamp)

3. ZIG Dotta Riffic markers (Baby Pink & Apricot)

4. Brilliance Inkpads ( Pearlescent Orchid & Pearlescent Orange)

Instructions:

1. Ink dragonfly stamp with the Pearlescent Orchid inkpad and stamp randomly all over the plain paper. Leave spaces enough to stamp the orange colored dragonflies.

2. Ink dragonfly stamp with the Pearlescent Orange inkpad and stamp in the remaining empty spaces.

3. Use the ZIG Dotta Riffic markers to draw dots.

Hi there

After a couple of weeks away from card making I discovered a great You Tube video showing you how to make different types of cards. Its really great. Its an English production which promotes a magazine but they still show you some neat stuff. I am going to try the 3d technique that was suggested.

Ideas for Making Birthday Cards

Sick of the mess and fuss. Well you could try this...

Instead of a glue stick - try glue spray. You won't get it on your hands and won't leave fingerprints on shiny cards.

Buy simple cards from a craft store or website. Its more cost efficient than buying from a newsagency and often better quality.

Try using different coloured pens for writing your message. I recently bought a white pen for black or dark cards and it looks fantasic. Its really hard to print white text from a printer. Think about it..

And do a bit of research on the web for some meaningful words to write in your card. It will make a difference when you write them in. Or find something funny or that will strike a chord with the person you are sending the card to.

Finding ideas for Making Birthday Cards

I find one of the hardest things about making birthday cards is finding ideas. Where do I start? I found that this was a great place to start.

I also found that I was keeping a lot of cards that people sent to me for my birthday. Not just your average run of the mill cards, but ones with funny text or pictures. Some of my favourites are the Larson ones..

I have used this site a lot in the past when I was into sending e-cards, but personally I prefer to get a card in the post or snail mail. It make me feel special. Like old times.. Some things from the past are worth bringing back!
